About Eileen
Supporting Families, Empowering Children
Hi, I’m Eileen, and I’m here to help you navigate the challenging yet rewarding journey of parenting a child with unique learning and developmental needs.
Parenting a child with unique learning and developmental needs can be both a challenging and rewarding journey. You’re here because you’re dedicated to providing the best support and opportunities for your child, and I’m here to help you every step of the way.
Personal Story:
As a parent, my husband and I walked the journey of discovering that our eldest son had multiple learning challenges, including ADHD, dysgraphia, and a math-specific learning disability. Navigating this path, I experienced firsthand the struggles parents face in ensuring their child receives the appropriate treatment and therapies to help them succeed. This challenging role illuminated the vital importance of parents viewing their relationship with educators as a cooperative partnership.
Through this journey, I learned invaluable strategies and techniques to support children with learning differences. My passion for education was reignited, leading me to return to college to finish my degree. I eventually graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and obtained certification to teach grades 7-12.
Professional Experience:
After graduation, I discovered the additional certification requirements for working with English Language Learners. This led to my hiring as a 9th and 10th-grade English teacher in a private Christian school, where I inherited a group of international exchange students, primarily from South Korea. Witnessing their academic struggles, I applied what I had learned in the English Language Specialist program, implementing strategies and resources to support their success. This experience cemented my calling to advocate for students with all types of learning challenges.
In 2019, I completed a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), further expanding my expertise to include preschool through adult students.
My Approach:
